The purpose of UNI Advocates for Alzheimer’s is to support the Alzheimer’sAssociation East Central Iowa Chapter by raising awareness for Alzheimer’sdisease on campus. The Alzheimer’s Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support and research with a vision of a world without Alzheimer’s disease. Supporting this organization gives UNI students the opportunity to make a positive contribution in both the Cedar Falls community and nationwide. A4A is dedicated to raising awareness about Alzheimer's disease, educating students about the cause and raising funds to help END Alzheimer's disease. The group assists with the planning and promotion of Campus QUASH (the Quest to Unravel Alzheimer's Scavenger Hunt) a high-energy fundraising event that takes place at UNI in the Spring. A4A is also a forum where students can share how Alzheimer’s has touched their lives, find support and take action to help fight this devastating disease. A4A meets once a month and does a volunteer project once a month. Check out what A4A is all about and see how you can support the efforts of the Alzheimer's Association by joining together with your peers and raising awareness and funds for the fight against Alzheimer's.

September is World Alzheimer's Month. Worldwide, 35 million people and their families are affected by dementia. Join us by raising awareness, reducing stigma and sharing your story. Visit alz.org/wamto learn more about World Alzheimer's Month. Make a note to purchase a purple frosted cupcake from Scratch Cupcakery on Alzheimer's Action Day (Friday, September 21st) and watch for information from A4A as they "Go Purple to End Alzheimer's".

If you have additional questions about A4A please contact the current President at davisaax@uni.edu.

I sincerely hope to see you all at our upcoming events.
Together, we can END Alzheimer's disease!
