Induction and Membership

When you are inducted as a member, you will receive a membership certificate and card, and will also be able to wear Psi Chi emblems in the form of key chains, pins, label pins, tie tacs, cloth emblems to wear on blazers or sweaters, iron-ons for t-shirts, etc.  Also available are Psi Chi decals for your car or other windows and seals which may be fixed to diplomas.

Requirements

The national organization's requirements for undergraduate membership include:

  • Must be enrolled as a student at your school
  • Must have established GPA at your school
  • Must be at least a second-semester sophomore
  • Must be enrolled as a major or minor in psychology or equivalent
  • Must have completed at least 9 semester hours of psychology
  • Must have an overall GPA in the top 35% of your class in general scholarhip
  • Must have a minimum psychology GPA of at least 3.20

How to Apply

1.  Print off and fill out the following:

2.  Return completed copies of the UNI application, National application, and Membership Card to Psi Chi Liaison at any of the public meetings prior to the March 3rd OR in the Psychology Club mailbox in the Department Office in Bartlett 1078.  If you are unsure where our mailbox is located, as a desk assistant or secretary.

 

3.  Make your check(s) out to UNI Psychology Club and hand in to the Psychology Club mailbox in Bartlett 1078. Be sure your name is on the check so we can trace it back to you! You should include payment for the following:

-Psi Chi: $62 (includes cords, Psi Chi one-time membership fee, ceremony costs, and shipping and handling costs)

-Psychology Club Dues (unless you have already paid): $10

-Total: $72

**These fees may be paid separately, but must all be collected before the applications are due.**
